Program Goals
All groups are facilitated by qualified healthcare
professionals and supported by a full complement of medical
and other support staff.
The goals of our program are:
• Sobriety based upon the principles of Alcoholics
Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
• Responsibility of self, family and community.
• The ability to live in reality and to lead
a full and satisfying life.
Seafield views treatment as the path to freedom from alcohol
and chemical dependency. An integrated approach by clinical,
medical and spiritual staff focuses on each client’s
problems and interpersonal relationships. An individualized
treatment plan is then developed that incorporates the specific
needs of each client. Group counseling is emphasized and
specialty groups are formed as the population requires.
The Staff – The medical and clinical
staff at Seafield Center are qualified professionals specializing
in the treatment of alcoholism and other chemical dependencies.
They apply a unique multi-disciplinary team approach to
the recovery of each individual. Psychiatrists, addiction
medicine specialists, physicians, nurse practitioners, registered
nurses, certified social workers, credentialed alcoholism/substance
abuse counselors and clergy work together to assist the
client in their early stages of recovery.
Family Program
Seafield recognizes that alcoholism/substance abuse
is a family illness and that it affects everyone close to
the addict. Family members are invited to participate in
a structured program led by a qualified staff of professionals
trained in family systems. The Family Program is Sunday,
10 AM – 4 PM and consists of workshops, family and
client groups and sessions with the significant other, led
by family counselors. Individual family sessions with the
significant other, the client and the client’s counselor
can be arranged during the week, by calling the case manager.

offers a comprehensive treatment system consisting of 6
OASAS licensed outpatient facilities, located throughout
Long Island. Seafield is associated with licensed agencies
throughout New York State and the surrounding area where
clients may continue their treatment at locations within
their own community.
