Science to Practice: Using Medications in Addiction Care

This dynamic training translates the latest scientific research on addiction medicine into real world, practical strategies that providers can use immediately in their work. Participants will learn how Medication Assisted Treatment supports recovery by addressing both the biological and behavioral aspects of addiction, including how medications stabilize brain chemistry, reduce cravings, improve patient engagement, and lower the risk of overdose.

Through clear explanations, case examples, and evidence-based guidance, this session will strengthen your ability to select and monitor appropriate medications, integrate MAT with counseling and behavioral therapies, support patient centered care, and navigate ethical considerations when working with complex clinical presentations.
